On $L_1$-weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov processes
In the present paper we investigate the $L_1$-weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov processes with general state spaces. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition for such processes to satisfy the $L_1$-weak ergodicity. Moreover, we apply the obtained results to establish $L_1$-weak ergodicity of quadratic stochastic processes.
متن کاملOptimal Stochastic Control in Continuous Time with Wiener Processes: General Results and Applications to Optimal Wildlife Management
We present a stochastic optimal control approach to wildlife management. The objective value is the present value of hunting and meat, reduced by the present value of the costs of plant damages and traffic accidents caused by the wildlife population. First, general optimal control functions and value functions are derived. Then, numerically specified optimal control functions and value func...

I. The construction problem for continuous time Markov chains Reference: Part II of David Freedman, Markov Chains, Holden-Day, 1971. Suppose that S is a countable set, Ω = the set of all right continuous step functions ω : [0,∞) → S with finitely many jumps in any finite time interval, Xt(ω) = ω(t), and {P , x ∈ S} are probability measures on Ω that satisfy (i) P (X0 = x) = 1 for all x ∈ S, and...
متن کاملStability of Markovian Processes III: Foster-Lyapunov Criteria for Continuous-Time Processes
In Part I we developed stability concepts for discrete chains, together with Foster-Lyapunov criteria for them to hold. Part II was devoted to developing related stability concepts for continuous-time processes. In this paper we develop criteria for these forms of stability for continuous-parameter Markovian processes on general state spaces, based on Foster-Lyapunov inequalities for the extend...
متن کاملA model for a large investor trading at market indifference prices. II: Continuous-time case
We develop a continuous-time model for a large investor trading at market indifference prices. In analogy to the construction of stochastic integrals, we investigate the transition from simple to general predictable strategies. A key role is played by a stochastic differential equation for the market makers’ utility process. The analysis of this equation relies on conjugacy relations between th...
